Omega (Meg) Dell Rutherford

Meg Rutherford, age 88, of Gatesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 10, 2020 in Gatesville. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10 AM at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.  There is no set visitation. Meg was born August 28, 1931 in Lockesburg, AR.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph Marion Hall and Daisy Wilson Hall. She was the 20th of 22 children.  She grew up and attended school in Lockesburg and DeQueen, AR.  She later moved to Houston, TX. While working in the Woolsworth soda shop, she met the love of her life, Bernie Rutherford.  The two were married on October 8, 1951. Together they raised five children.  They moved to Gatesville in 1971. She worked for Medical Plastics Laboratory for 33 years until her retirement.  She loved the Lord, her family, her children, and all of her grandchildren. Survivors include sons, Bill Rutherford, Jerry Rutherford and wife Melody, Terry Rutherford and wife Carrie; daughters, Barbara Aguirre and husband Henry and Brenda Evans and husband Clint; sister, Sue Byrd; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Dale Rutherford in 1987, grandson, Joshua Frey; great-granddaughter, Ella Meg Dowdy and 20 brothers and sisters.
