Patricia Denise Griffith

Patricia Denise Griffith, age 58, of Gatesville, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, TX.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Moffat Cemetery with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating.

Denise was born on July 30, 1964 in Midland, Texas.  She grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 1982.  Denise moved to Gatesville, Texas in 1987 and worked at Gatesville ISD from 1998 until her recent retirement on January 1, 2022.  Denise worked hard to be a good employee of the school, and she was blessed by the kindness and patience of Brian Reeder and the faculty and staff of Gatesville ISD.  Denise loved John Wayne, the mountains, horseback riding, and her beloved dogs: Cheyenne, Missy, Cherokee, and Kayene.  Although she experienced a number of challenges over the course of her life, Denise loved her family and friends and worked hard to maintain her independence.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann Griffith; her grandparents, Raymond and Ruby Griffith and Henry David and Ruby Lightsey. 

She is survived by her father, Dennis Griffith and his wife, Peggy; her sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Troy Keel; and her niece, Kaitlan McKenna Keel. 

Serving as pallbearers are Steven Lovelady, Jayson Lam, Paul Griffith, David Griffith, and Troy Keel.
