Patricia Ann Hollingsworth

Patricia (Patsy) Hollingsworth, age 80 of Gatesville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2025 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Scott’s Funeral Home. 

Patricia Ann (Patsy) Rhoads Hollingsworth, daughter of the late James Wallace (Sandy) Rhoads and Cora Faye Bell Rhoads, was born October 20, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. She lived in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1963 and from Durham’s Business College of Waco in December 1963.

Patsy married Charles E. Hollingsworth March 12, 1966 at First United Methodist Church in Gatesville, Texas. They were married 54 years and resided in Gatesville all of their married life.

Patsy worked at The National Bank of Gatesville for 19 years before going to work at the Gatesville Savings & Loan in 1983 for 11 years. She returned to The National Bank and continued her banking career for a total of 44 years, retiring December 31, 2007.

Patsy attended the First United Methodist Church becoming a member in 1955. She was an active member in MYF and served as a District Officer. She was baptized in 1970 joining Liberty Baptist Church. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church since 1989, where she served as Financial Secretary from 2009-2018.

Patsy loved her family and friends and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching each grandchild play sports and other activities. She also enjoyed creating each grandchild their own photo scrapbooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents, and a grandson, Christopher Douglas Hollingsworth.

Patsy is survived by her son, Michael Charles Hollingsworth and wife Shelli; daughter, Holli Ann Williams and husband Billy Bob; grandchildren, Chase Alan Williams, Ben Charles Hollingsworth, Rady Michelle Hollingsworth and Carter James Williams; sister, Roxie Faye Greenway and husband Don; and numerous nieces and nephews.
