Paula Faubion Jander

Paula Faubion Jander, age 75 of Gatesville, passed away on the morning of January 8, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Gatesville Church of Christ, 2417 E. Main St. Gatesville, TX.

Paula was born on March 31, 1944 in Ft. Worth, TX. She grew up and attended school in Big Spring, TX, graduating with the class of 1962.  She married Larry Jander in February 1962.  She followed Larry in the Air Force for a few years before settling in central Texas.  They called Gatesville home for the past 42 plus years.  During that time Paula worked for TDCJ in several different positions, from corrections officer to administrative segregation clerk. She retired from TDCJ with 28 years of service. Paula enjoyed sewing, knitting and many other crafts.  Her heart was her family. She loved spending time with them especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. As Paula got older the family found out she had a love for volleyball that they never knew. She would put up a fight to go watch her granddaughter and the Baylor Lady Bears play a volleyball game. Paula cherished every moment she spent at soccer, basketball and softball games. She never missed band concerts or marching contest if she could help it. Paula and Larry volunteered at the Coryell County Youth Fair for over 25 years, from home economics to showing goats, and rabbits. Paula was a member of Mountain Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her, parents; brothers, Eddie Frank and Monroe Faubion

Paula is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Jander; daughters, Lori Davis and husband, Steve, Dori Harkcom and husband, Marty; grandchildren, Jamie Jackson and husband, Wil, Rachel Johnson and husband, Dylan, Slade Harkcom, Laykin Harkcom, Chris Davis and wife, Lauren, and Melissa Mayes and fiancé, Roderick; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and special friend, Mary Bishop.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Paula’s name to Coryell County Youth Fair, Inc.
