Ralph Henry Holder III

Ralph Holder, age 52 of Flat, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at a local hospital. 

Celebration of life services will be held by the family at a future date.

Ralph Henry Holder III was born on April 23, 1971, to the late Ralph Henry Holder II and Connie Rhine Holder in Portsmouth, Virginia.  He grew up and attended school in Currituck, North Carolina, graduating in 1989.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1991 and served in various stations before retiring at Fort Hood.  He married Lisa Anne Wilkins in May of 2004 and they made their home in Flat.

Ralph was a beloved father, husband, and grandfather.  His love for his family went beyond measure.  He loved teaching his grandbabies new things and never missed an opportunity to spoil them.  He enjoyed fishing and especially loved to go deep-sea fishing.  One of his proudest memories was going on a deep-sea fishing excursion with his grandson Simon Elliot.   

Ralph is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Joshua Wilkins and wife, Amanda; and grandchildren, Simon and Lucas Elliot, Mason and River Walter, and Norah Wilkins.

Ralph was an amazing friend and loved to help people.  He never met a stranger and had a heart a mile wide.  He will be missed, but we are reassured that he is in the sweet loving arms of Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, Ralph’s family asked that memorials be made to the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, Voluntary Service Office/135T, 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Temple, Texas 76504.
