Randy Nelson Jones, age 64 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Graveside services, with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Pidcoke Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Crosby officiating.

Randy was born on August 26, 1954 in Gatesville, to the late Coy (Red) Jones and Tressie Beeman Jones.   He grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1973.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1976.  He was a civil service employee at Ft. Hood, retiring in 2010 after 28 years of service. He married Debra Stewart on June 7, 1989. The two had met on a blind date only three months earlier. They faced numerous trials during their marriage which only strengthened their love for each other and their faith in God.  She preceded him in death on December 30, 2017.  He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. 

He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Matthew Jones.

He is survived by his daughters, Chastity Garrett and husband, D.J., Arlie Henderson and husband, Jeremy; son, Christian Huston and wife, Hollie; brothers, Coy Jones and wife, Pam, Ronnie Jones and wife, Lisa, Ken Jones and wife, Sue; granddaughters, Denver and Davyn Conklin; grandsons, Saeger and Hayden Huston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Trinity Baptist Church, 1506 W. Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
