Raul Medina

Raul Medina, Sr. age 35 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Gatesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9th at Scott’s Funeral Home, with The Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.

Raul Alejandro Medina Leija was born on June 8, 1986 in Monterrey N.L. Mexico.  He grew up in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 2004.  He has worked at Kalyn-Siebert Trailers for 16 years.  He enjoyed playing corn hole, bowling, movies, cooking, playing video games, music and occasionally getting tattoos.  Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.  His boys were his life and he loved spending time with them.  He was an enthusiast Dallas Cowboys fan.  Raul was sweet, loving, caring and always made sure everyone was taken care of.  He made a positive impression on anyone he met and was loved by everyone that knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joaquin Medina, Clara Piceno Medina, Ciriaco Leija Flores and Maria De la Luz Castillo Leija.

Raul is survived by his parents, Mario Medina, Sr. and Maria Medina; sons, Raul Medina, Jr., Mikey Medina, Gabriel Medina; brother, Mario Medina, Jr. and wife Rosa; sister, Jessica Medina and husband, Miguel Gamez; mother of his children, Erica Medina; girlfriend and life partner, Miranda Bush; nieces and nephews, Erikka Silva, Taylar Medina, Gio Gamez, Angel Gamez, Ely Medina, Aliyah Medina, Mateo Herrera; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
