Richard Scott Meyer Sr.

Richard S. Meyer Sr., age 56 of Gatesville, passed away on the afternoon of May 6, 2021 in Plano. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 - 6 pm, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Richard was born on November 28, 1964 in Clearwater, FL to Sylvia and Clifton Meyer. He had three brothers, Brian, Jeff and Kelly and one sister, Roberta. Richard married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Meyer on December 8, 1989. Together they raised four sons, R.J., Brian, David and Chase after moving to Texas in 1996. He worked for over 20 years as a service Technician for Xerox before being forced to medically retire in 2009.

Richard was a loving husband, partner and best friend. Family always came first with him. If you were a friend, he would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was his last one. If one of his son’s friends needed help, he would open his home up to them and call them family. Richard loved all outdoor sports, working on cars, American history, driving his tractor and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He is loved very much and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Meyer; sister, Roberta Meyer; and brother, Brian Meyer.

Richard is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, R.J., Brian, David and Chase; and 13 grandchildren.
