Robert Bigham

Robert Bigham, age 71 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in McGregor.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at Restland Cemetery, with Jess McCabe officiating. 

Robert was born on May 2, 1949 in Gatesville, to the late Tom and Peggy Caswell Bigham.  He grew up and went to school in Evant, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1968.  He married Kathryn Spencer on June 21, 1968.  He worked at Kalyn Trailers as a welder for many years and for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Hughes Unit, retiring after 20 years of service.  After his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, building cabinets and creating segmented bowls that he turned on his wood lathe.  He was a Deacon and member of Live Oak Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Joseph Bigham.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Bigham; son, Matt Bigham and wife, Treva; daughter, Carol Thorman; grandchildren, Christian Bigham, Anthony Bigham, Clayton Thorman and wife, Ashlyn, Alexis Lara and husband, Michael, Gabriel Bigham and Asher Bigham.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated memorials to be made to Live Oak Baptist Church, 113 FM 107, Gatesville, TX 76528.
