Robert Treadway Sr.

Robert Treadway Sr., age 79 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date.

Robert Tivis Treadway Sr. was born on April 29, 1945 to the late Joe and Tillie (Abbott) Treadway in Houston, Texas.  He grew up and attended school in Midland and San Angelo, Texas, graduating from Waco High School in 1964.  He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 at the age of 20.  He married Vicki Tullis on September 11, 1965, and together they made their home in Fort Richardson, located in Anchorage, Alaska.   After discharging from the Army, He and Vicki moved back to Texas, where he attended school to become an aircraft mechanic.  He worked as a self-employed carpenter and later for Butler Construction Company, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming, ranching, and traveling.  He especially loved riding horses. He was a member of the Waco Masonic Lodge No. 92 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Waco Karem Shrine, and a Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.  He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Flat.  

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Joe Richard Treadway and David Thomas Treadway.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki of 58 years; son, Robert Treadway Jr.; daughter, Laura Treadway Edwards; granddaughter Dr. Kaitlynn Edwards; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
