Robert Allen "Bob" Valenca

Robert Allen Valenca, age 74, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his residence. Inurnment with military honors will take place at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

Bob was born on September 27, 1948 in Danbury Connecticut to the late Manuel and Elizabeth (Otis) Valenca. He joined the US Navy and served proudly for 35 years, until his retirement in 1995. August 12, 1968 he married Joy Johnson in San Diego, California. Bob was a lifelong member of the VFW as well as the American Foreign Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly; and grandchildren, Isaac Bueno and Cameron Valenca.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joy; daughter, Kara Yocom and husband, Matt; son, Rob Valenca and wife, Donna; siblings, Ken, Manny, Al, Carol, Betty, Tony, Rick, and Keith; grandchildren, Bethany Hurtado and husband, Donovan, Christopher Bueno, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Kaitlyn Yocom, Hannah Bueno, Matthew Yocom, Aaron Yocom, Shelbi Valenca, and Devon Valenca; and great grandchild, Laura Hurtado.
