Ronald Pekarski, age 83, passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2019 in Gatesville, Texas. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville.  The family will receive visitors form 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. of Tuesday August 27, 2019.  Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cresson Cemetery in Cresson, Texas. Ronald was born in Trenton, N. J., the son of Francis and Alice (Kaufman) Pekarski. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and was honorably discharged and always had a passion for Veterans.    He worked for the U. S. Post Office, A T & T, Alarm Data Transit, Sound Off Systems, Smith Alarm Systems and retired from Mosler.  He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them at family gatherings, dinners and holidays which included our soldiers. He also made people laugh and think with his hundreds of jokes and riddles. He spent time reading, putting puzzles together, collecting stamps and coins.  He accepted Jesus as his Savior and was Baptised in the Baptist Church.  He was a volunteer for the Cresson V.F.D. and known as “Old Ron”, a Hospice Volunteer and a member of the Gatesville RV Club where he learned to play dominoes.  Whether you knew him as Ron, Dad, Old Ron, Homer, Paw Paw or Papa Ron, you knew he loved you. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth Pekarski, sisters Janet Hoagland and Lois Falkenberg, former wives Betty Pekarski and Christel McDonald and grandson Grant Carroll. He is survived by his loving wife; Janis Daschofsky-Pekarski of Gatesville, daughters; Linda and John Loper of Hugo, OK, Jill and Ted Elder of Newnan, GA, Celeste Carroll of Italy, TX, Loretta and Danny Elledge of Gatesville, TX and Kathy and Ronny Perryman of Purmela, TX and sons; Philip and Elizabeth Brooks of Rhome, TX and Fred and Lisa Daschofsky of Gatesville, TX, 32 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
