Ronnie Edward Grigsby, age 75, of Athens, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 in Kemp, Texas. Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Comanche Springs Cemetery near McGregor. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas. Ronnie was born June 24, 1943 in Azle, Texas. He was the son of Horace Edward Grigsby and Ethel Bertie Fowler Grigsby. He attended school in Azle, Texas. Ronnie worked as a technician for the Telephone Company for 33 years. He started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1966 and retired from Lucent Technologies in December of 1999. He loved team roping, motorcycles and restoring vintage automobiles. Ronnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ronnie loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a member of Lake Athens Baptist Church. He also loved his friends and family at Mound Cowboy Church, while they resided in Gatesville. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Laverne Hokett and brother, Horace (Tuffy) Grigsby. Survivors include his wife, Linda Grigsby; his daughter, Ann Baum and her husband Ken Baum of Hurst, Texas; and his sister LaVey Granger of Garland, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
