Shannon Lee Young

Shannon Lee Young, age 52 of Laguna Park, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Private memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Shannon Lee Young was born on May 25, 1971, to the late Kenneth Young and Becky Hedges Ramsey in Abilene, Texas.  Shannon spent most of his childhood in Abilene and moved to Waco when he was a teenager. Shannon spent the last 17 years living in Laguna Park, Texas. Shannon loved his family, dirt track racing and his dog Josie. Across the country, the racetrack community new Shannon by the name of “Slider”. 

Shannon was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Brandi Rene Kelly; grandmothers, Billie Young and Doris Lucas; uncles, Lonnie Hedges and Jimmy Young; and aunts, Dubby Pemberton and Patricia Sudberry. 

Shannon is survived by his step-father, Thomas Ramsey; sister, Kealy Bruton; nephews, Cameron Fulghum and Ty Bruton; uncles, Victor Hedges and wife, Vickey and Johnny Ray Young; aunt, Rickie Young; grandmother, Winifred Ramsey and a hosts of cousins and friends.
