Shirley passed into the everlasting peace and presence of her savior on June 22, 2019 in Salado, Texas. Ms. Brown’s visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, 6-8 p.m. and her home going service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 11:00 a.m-12 p.m. both services at Scott’s Funeral Home, Gatesville, TX and interment following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Gatesville, TX. Shirley was born on April 2, 1954 in Miami, Florida, to Raleigh Harden Sr. and Dorester Harden. She graduated from Gatesville High School in Gatesville, Texas class of 1973. Shirley was affectionately known as “Mimi” and had a wonderful gift of hospitality and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a true culinary blessing and loved preparing delicious homemade meals that always made everyone happy to return and spend time in Mimi’s kitchen. Shirley had a true love for people, especially children, and poured her heart into caring for many like her own throughout her life. Her love for children was displayed through her more than 35-year career as a Child Care Professional, caring for hundreds of children in Gatesville and the surrounding area. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, son Robert Lewis Brown III (Trey), brothers, Raleigh and Reginald Harden. Shirley is survived by: her mother, Dorester Waddell; daughters and sons; Misti Brown Maag and husband Michael, Annissa Brown Cosentino and husband Michel, sisters; Sharon Harden, Deborah and husband Robert Blackwell, brother, Todd and wife Lisa Harden, grandchildren; Michaela Maag Seidenberger and husband Trevor, Taylor Maag, Ava Cosentino, Raegan Maag, Leah Cosentino, Jessa Cosentino, great-grandchildren; Beau and Jolee Seidenberger, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, long-time special friend Michael Sykes, and fur babies Angel, and Royce.
