Shirley Ann Smith

Shirley Smith, age 69 passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. 

Private memorial services will be held at a future date.

Shirley Ann Jackson Smith was born the third of five children on July 24, 1953, to the late Cargile and Doris Jackson in Hamilton County, Indiana.  In 1980, she moved to Corpus Christi and worked for the Driscoll Children's Hospital.  She later moved to Gatesville and worked for Coryell Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2014.  Shirley was a resident of the Flat community and was always surrounded by family and friends.  She loved playing games with her family and even enjoyed going fishing at times.  She was a natural caregiver in both her professional and personal life and took care of her elderly mother until her passing at the age of 90.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Billy Jo Jackson, and Thomas Ray Jackson. 

She is survived by her sister, Tanya Baustian and husband, Harold; and brother, Roger Jackson.
