Shirley Williams

Shirley Williams, age 56, of Gatesville, passed away unexpectedly at Scott and White Hospital on Thursday, March 1, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home chapel.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.   Shirley was born on April 19, 1961 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Herbert West and Joy Newton.  She attended school in Azel, TX, until moving to Gatesville.  Shirley married Charles Williams on March 2, 1991, in Gatesville, TX.  They loved to go fishing and camping together.  Shirley would also join Charles on his cross country trucking trips.  Saying Shirley loved animals would be an understatement.  She owned numerous animals herself and would take in a stray in a moment’s notice. Shirley loved her grandkids just as much if not more than her animals.     She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bubba Rogers.   Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles Williams; sister, Patsy Sellers; brother, Richard West; daughters, Patricia Wright and husband, Tommy, Felisha Key, and Becky Dolt and husband, Curtis of Temple, DeNissa Patterson and husband, Adrian; sons, Richard Key and Charles Williams and wife, Mandy of Temple; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
