Siprina Felipa Devara

Siprina Felipa Devara, age 49 of Gatesville, passed away on June 11, 2024. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Jay Polishetty officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Church Cemetery in Rumley. On Friday, June 14, a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Siprina Felipa Devara was born in Levelland, Texas, on September 11, 1974, to Alberto and the late Adelida R.V. Devara. Throughout her life, Siprina enjoyed fishing, hiking, playing cards and many other table games. She enjoyed taking trips, especially the trips she took to Oaxaca, Mexico City, and Wisconsin. She loved to visit the zoo and look at antique cars. Siprina was known by many as “Bettita”. She will be dearly missed by her family and her favorite pet, Kicks the cat.

Siprina was preceded in death by her mother, Adelida Devara. 

She is survived by her father, Alberto Devara; husband, Elias Garcia; children, Adolf Jr. Ramirez, Ashley Gardea and Martin Isac Ocanas; sisters, Mary Lou Simmons, Linda Cantu, Norma Alonzo, Rosa Patricia Vasquez Townsley and Angie Devara; brothers, Hank Snow Vasquez, Francisco Matthew Vasquez and Albert Emerson Devara; eight grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous other friends and family who loved her.
