Stan Sugg

Stan Sugg, age 76 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Private interment at Restland Cemetery was carried out, according to his wishes.

Robert Stanley Sugg was born on October 10, 1945 in Ranger, Texas, to the late Robert Lee and Mary Penn Sugg.  Stan’s childhood adventures took place in Evant, where many life-long friendships were created.  He attended school in Evant and then in Abilene, to become a hairdresser.  Stan worked 50 years as a hairdresser in Evant, Arlington and Waco, before opening the Cowhouse Salon in Purmela and the Gallery in Gatesville.

On April 4, 1970, Stan married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Sue Firestone in Evant.  Stan and Pat were not only partners in marriage, but also in business, working alongside each other for almost 50 years. He loved entertaining his clients, most of them becoming good friends of himself and Pat.  He loved his plants and his oil painting.  Stan “lived life his way.” 

Stan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Firestone Sugg.
