Sue Bales, age 99 of Gatesville, passed away at her home and joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27th at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole, Texas.
Susie Pearl Bales was born on November 26, 1922 in Cooper, Texas in Delta County. She was the daughter of the late Mose and Susie Shepherd James. She married Floyd Bales and lived in Denver City, Midland, Seagraves, Lubbock and Gatesville. Sue loved living in west Texas and raised her six children there. She came from a hard-working, Christian family and raised all her children to know God. Sue was the last sibling of her family of 10 to go to Heaven. Her strong faith and reliance in God, made her a role model for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Bales; son, Donald Bales; granddaughter, Kim Bales; daughters-in-law, Ellen Bales and Clara Bales.
Her legacy continues and consists of her surviving sons, Morris Bales and friend, Shirley of Wimberly, Earl Bales and wife, Loretta of Neosho, Missouri; daughters, Sue Ann Locke and husband, Tony of Cooper, Sharon Campbell and husband, Ken of Gatesville, Carol Bradley and husband, Stephen of Emory; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
