Tom Moore, age 90, of Gatesville, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating, followed by visitation until 5:00 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, next to his son Eddie.Tom was born on July 16, 1927 in Glen Rose, Texas to the late Thomas Elijah Moore, Sr. and Ruby Neace Moore. He grew up in Brazos Point in Somervell County. He was called Jack all of his life by his family because he had a small dog at the age of two years old, named “Jack” and that was the only word he could say. He married Sandra Neie in 1972; they resided in Hamilton, moving to Gatesville in 1974. He was self-employed from the age of 14, hauling hay and cedar fence posts. When he retired, he spent 20 plus years selling tools and horse equipment locally at area livestock sales and flea markets. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Eddie and Richard Thomas Moore; daughters, Patricia and Glenda Moore; five sisters; and one brother. Tom is survived by his wife, Sandra Moore; sons, Jackie Moore of Victoria, Tommy Moore of Austin; daughter, Kelly Kyriacou of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Jacqueline Fitzgerald, Christina Tate, and Matthew Moore; great-grandchildren, Kiera Fitzgerald, Aaron Moore, Laura Tate, Gavin Tate, and Max Tate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
