Tony Zapata

Tony Zapata, age 78 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.

Antonio “Tony” Zapata was born on April 17, 1946 to the late Manuel and Sarah Luevano Zapata in Gatesville, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Gatesville. Tony started his career as a Barber in the early 1960’s. Later in life, he raised cattle on his property and ran a successful army surplus business for many years. He married Carolyn Ann Green on December 8, 2002, and together they traveled all across the country. Tony and Carolyn spent many of their weekends in Luckenbach, Texas attending the various music events that were held there. Tony had a great personality and loved being around and spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Zapata; sisters, Dora Voss, Josephine Zapata, and Anita White; brothers, David Luevano and Victor Zapata; and grandson, Barton Warren.

He is survived by his sisters, Matilda Maynard and husband Leonard, Madelyn Barnes and husband James; brother, Junior Zapata and wife Cheryl; sons, Heath Warren and wife Janette, and Colby Warren; and grandchildren, Mia Warren, Dustin Warren, and Victor Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
