Travis Reed Pruitt

Travis Reed Pruitt, age 40 of Jonesboro, passed away June 8, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Turnersville Tabernacle in Turnersville. Burial will follow at Weaver Chapel Cemetery. There is no set time for visitation.

Travis was born on December 9, 1980 in Clifton, to Larry and Cheryel Pruitt. Travis graduated from Jonesboro, playing and loving all sports, including 6-man football, basketball and track.  Travis went to school and became a master welder but changed to be a journey-man electrician.  He learned to be a true electrician from Bruce and Markie Necessary.  Travis was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and fishing with many friends.  He graduated from Jonesboro, but he was absolutely in love with Turnersville.  Travis had many friends and family that loved him dearly. He will be desperately missed.  He loved to play dominos, pitch horse shoes and washers, as he steadily talked trash.  His beautiful smile and laugh will be missed.  With sadness, Travis got lost along the way.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maw-maw and Paw-paw, Ivalene and Nolan Pruitt; Mam-maw, Lila Dean McDonald; aunt Darlene Anderson, aunt and uncle, Barbara and Billy Dyer; uncle, Dick Gellasch: uncles, Jerry and Don Wolfe; cousin Billy Dyer, Jr.; and dear friend, Kane Necessary.

Travis is survived by daddy and mother, Larry and Cheryel Pruitt; sister, Jill Cockrell; brother, Clint Pruitt; two nieces, Bridgette Bartek, and Starr Pruitt, girlfriend, LaRhonda Fernandes; aunts, Louise Wolfe and Nelda Gellasch; uncle, Andy Anderson; uncle Gaddy and aunt Joyce McDonald; aunt, Jo and uncle Richard Jolly and many cousins and friends.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Turnersville Community Center, P.O. Box 701, Gatesville, TX 76528. In memory of Travis.
