Treva Bernice Davis Post, age 95, of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Private services will be held at a later date.She was born on August 2, 1922 in Levita, Texas to the late Carl Clinton Davis and Minnie Bell Rogers Davis. She lived all her life in Levita and Gatesville. She graduated from Gatesville High in 1939. She married John Frank Post, Jr. on February 2, 1941, the husband she loved and cherished for a lifetime starting when they met in the 5th grade. She was a most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a member of the 1939 Gatesville Hornet’s basketball team that won the state championship in the first annual High School Girls' Basketball League of Texas Tournament. She was instrumental in starting the Girl Scout program in Gatesville and served as its first Girl Scout Cookie Chair. She was a Charter and Lifetime Member of the Coryell Memorial Healthcare Volunteers Organization, logging 3,000 hours of service until she retired 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Frank, and sister, Winnie Davis Hall.Treva is survived by her son, Terry Post and his wife, Mona, of Georgetown; daughter, Diane Post, of Austin; granddaughter, Laura Nelle Garcia and her husband, Jerry, of Houston; and grandson, Gregory Morrison Post, of Houston.The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of The Meadows and Kindred Hospice, Dr. Jeffrey Bates and the doctors, nurses and staff of Coryell Memorial Hospital for their devoted care of our parents and grandparents.Memorials may be made to Coryell Memorial Foundation, l507 West Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
