Vera Ayers

Vera Ayers, age 88 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, Nov 24, 2019 in Waco.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. A. C. Painter officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Vera was born on October 21, 1931 in Coryell County to the late J.C. and Gladys Culp Buster.  She grew up and attended school in Coryell County.  She married Harold Ayers on Dec. 5, 1947.  They resided all their married life in Coryell County.  She was a seamstress and also worked at Walls Manufacturing, Kalyn and Anchor Industries.  Her husband preceded her in death in 2002.  She was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Geneva McCarley and husband, James, Betsy Robinson and husband, Lonnie; son, William Ayers and wife, Zula; sister, Marcia Cockrell and husband, Sammy; brother, Clyde Buster and wife, Robbie; 13 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
