Virginia (Ginger) Straw

Virginia (Ginger) Straw, age 91 of Gatesville passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Gatesville.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Restland Cemetery. Mrs. Straw was born on June 28, 1927 in the Mound community, to the late Thomas and Lois Hamilton.  She grew up in Mound and Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School.  She resided for many years in Houston where she was President of the Houston Women’s Dental Auxiliary and worked in women’s retail.  After her retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Gatesville in 2005 and served as a volunteer at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center.  She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Straw, in 2015.She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Brasuell-Trujillo and husband, Michael of Tulsa, OK; sister, Mickey Cole; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Brasuell and Zachary Brasuell.Memorials may be given in Ginger’s name to the Coryell Museum and Historical Center, P.O.
