William Michael “Mike” Sullivant

Mike Sullivant, age 69, of Gatesville, passed away at home on July 13, 2018. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Oklahoma City, OK. Mike was born on August 20, 1948 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Howard Russell and Barbara Fogle Sullivant. After high school, he graduated from SMU in 1970 with a BBA degree in Finance, and then attended OU Law School. He was Vice President of a hospital supply, and worked as an outside bank auditor before entering the oil and gas business. For the next 35 years, he was an Independent Petroleum Landman and Consultant, working in all oil and gas production states in the United States. Mike and Katherine Lowrey first met at SMU in 1968.  The long-time friends married on May 7, 2006 at their home in Asheville, NC, and then moved to Gatesville. Mike is survived by his wife, Katherine Sullivant; brother, Tim Sullivant and wife Marla of Houston; daughter, Hannah and husband, Stetson Wright of Gatesville; grandchildren, Garrett and Amos; several nieces and nephews.
